Wedding Tradition at The Country Club
There wasn’t any debate about where Clare and Charlie would hold their August wedding. Clare and her family are longtime members of The Country Club, said to be the oldest country club in the United States, and as the lore goes, the genesis of the very term “country club”. Even Tom and Giselle had a hard time getting in. If that’s not old school, I don’t know what is. I wasn’t the only person there to be thinking of Bushwood throughout the day, as most of the crew here were avid Caddyshack fans too. The movie quotes were flying between us all day, and we even got to boogie down to “I’m alright” by Kenny Loggins at the reception. I may have done a gopher move or two quietly off to the side. I also was smiling all day taking in Clare and Charlie’s infectious joy. These two could not have been sweeter to work with and an absolute joy to watch get married.
